When I lived and worked in the Chelsea district of Manhattan I had a client Timmy that also cut hair. He was german with a pretty heavy accent and always would come into my salon and wait for me to be able to take care of his hair needs. He was always overly flirtatious with me and would make almost vulgar advances towards me. If I wasn’t younger and eager to please I might have been insulted. But alas, I was thrilled that he wanted my services over everyone else and the fact that he also cut hair, showed that he respected my skill level. One night while friends were in the city visiting from Long Island, we went to Splash bar on 17th street. This was at the time, and still perhaps, a fun bar to go to. Back then they actually had a shower on stage and strippers would do an act of stripping their clothes off and take a shower on stage in front of everyone watching. I noticed that the night we were there, Timmy was stripping and when he saw me he winked and threw his underwear at me in the audience. I was a celebrity of sorts it seemed and my friends were speechless. Weeks later I was cutting Timmy’s hair and laughing with him about that night. He went on to tell me that aside from cutting hair he also was a porn actor and starred in a number of films. I was fascinated about this and asked him how it worked. He told me depending on what the actor does on film would determine their pay and such. How cool I thought to be able to be so free sexually to tap into something so different from my normal existence. I of course felt compelled to rent some of my clients movies to see his work and be able to support him. I’ll have to bring this story up with my friends that were with me that night at Splash. It always makes me laugh.
(S)trippy Timmy.

Cosmetologist and Stylist since 1986. I've been fascinated with people my whole life. What makes them react and do the things they do as individuals and humans. But also much deeper than the physical being and listen to their souls and their journey on this planet. I've been blessed to have touched so many, and to have them touch me in a way they're not even aware of. For that I will always be grateful.
