I saw Randy probably every 2 weeks for a haircut and or clean up. He had an addictive behavior that included hair maintenance. In the past his addictive behavior also included drugs, alcohol, and sex. He was very neat and tidy, and every hair was present and accounted for. Meaning, every hair had to be in it’s place. In his almost always manic demeanor, one day he came to the salon so excited to show me a piercing he had just gotten. He took me by the hand and led me into the bathroom for privacy so I can see this big silver hoop pierced into the tip of his penis. I was at first speechless because he was so open to show me something so personal, and also because I never really understood why anyone would want their penis pierced. A “prince albert” if you will. I then told him how impressed I was with his choice of jewelry and thanked him for sharing. While cutting his hair we discussed the pros and cons of such a piercing. To this day I wonder if he still has to sit when he urinates to avoid spraying out of the 2 holes instead of the one he used to have. I don’t see him anymore but hope he’s well and living a drug and alcohol free life. I enjoyed his love for shock value and open minded sexual expressiveness. He was always a nice, generous and fun guy to be around.
