Our little secret.

It’s not all too common on long island. Probably more common in NYC and obviously much more common in other states like California and such, but I’m always intrigued with clients that get a little nip and tuck. Some are up front and tell me beforehand, and some say nothing and I stumble across a scar or 2. It’s hard to miss. Some people look better if I know them pre surgery and some I barely see a difference. One client I told just looks more refreshed and less tired. She was thrilled with that response. Another client had around her eyes done and even though I don’t remember them looking bad before, all I notice now are how big and beautifully blue her eyes are since. I’ve seen face lifts, partial face lifts, noses, eyes, fillers, Botox, lipo, and of course breasts. Many many breast changes. Luckily in all my years I’ve never seen anyone that had any work that is less then great. It would kill me to see someone that I’ve known and loved do something and with held breath ask me what I thought of the work worrying that it wasn’t good. I also don’t judge or think any less of anyone that just wants to look and feel better about themselves. I had one client that after getting her “new and improved” breasts asked if I wanted to feel them. I awkwardly said no. But always loved her for asking. I in turn never mention anything to a client that obviously has had facial work done but feels no desire to tell me. I go about styling their hair but am conscious of making sure to keep certain areas cut in a way that no outsiders can see or tell anything has been done. But when they do tell me, it opens up the conversation about exactly what they did, how it felt, how the recovery was etc.. Also I ask them for their doctors number in case I ever decide to do something with my own eye issues or if I decide I want a bigger top lip than God and my parents gave me. Either way I am honored and privileged to keep their secret and to support them.

Cosmetologist and Stylist since 1986. I've been fascinated with people my whole life. What makes them react and do the things they do as individuals and humans. But also much deeper than the physical being and listen to their souls and their journey on this planet. I've been blessed to have touched so many, and to have them touch me in a way they're not even aware of. For that I will always be grateful.
